Please, the Byzantines never wore purple, only their king did in court, and the Byzantine flag was red, not purple. Zoom out, and well, you have a the candy color purple men prancing around the map.

The mod does its best to eliminate that, I found the Byzantines very well done, very well modelled, and very detailed. I suppose this is really a rant against team colors, but I find them very offensive, because they're telling me as a gamer that some designer felt his audience very dumb, and had to turn the game into a "Red vs. The engine seems spruced up, but its origins from 2004 are very apparent, being the apparent necessity to have team colors everywhere, and no one wants to really eliminate team colors.

Ok, couple problems with this mod, as I have with Medieval 2 and most mods using the engine. Many broken Character Traits and Ancillaries fixed
New Patriarch titles for Orthodox Factions available Unique Traits and Ancillaries for the Teutonic Order and the Knights Templar *- Several boosts for the AI to get better characters *- Countless new Traits, Transferable Titles, Ancillaries *- Most ancillaries are now transferable from one character to another Watch and take care of your general and the moral and suply of his army! Army attrition and supply system demands much more tactical decisions and religion is much more important. *- Royal Bloodlines for all existing factions *- Crowns for faction leaders that have conquered historical biggest empires The effects and descriptions are often based on historical backgrounds. *- Different titles for greek, catholic and islamic culture for every settlement. *- Completely reworked military and economical education, based on the inclination towards Military or Adminastrative skills, the quality of schools, libraries and universities and of course skills you show in battle. Other buildings: highways, Hanseatic League and pagan shrines.
Marks Basilica (Venice), Hagia Sophia (Constantinople), Great Aqueduct (Constantinople) *- Medieval Wonders can now be constructed in important medieval cities: Dome of Rock (Jerusalem), Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Jerusalem), Cordoba Mosque (Cordoba), Kaaba (Mecca), Notre Dame (Paris), St. *- New education structures: Schools, libraries and universities AI produces more Elite and Heavy units. Ai is forced to make better mix of Infantry, Missiles, Cavalry and Artillery. *- Ai now uses unit priorities to build their armies Knights Templar (only playable in the Early Era Campaign)ĭo these include some kind of improved AI? Play the early Era Campaign in Hotseat mode. Kingdom of Jerusalem replaces Knights Templar Loosing this key settlements can seriously drop the military and econimc power of one faction. Every faction owns one or two very advanced settlements, which will be your local military powerhouse. A few settlements are different than in the Early Era Advanced settlements and units available at the game start *- Historically accurate family trees (within the limits of the game engine) * Teutonic Music for east european factions * Britania Music for north european factions * Crusades Music for the middle eastern factions New campaign music from the Kingdoms Expansion: *- Extended and more reasonable win conditions New models for european castles, fortresses and citadels * New models for trade ships, sieges and trade wagons *- New captain and general models for all orthodox factions *- New captain models for catholic factions New character models for all faction leaders *- Every Region has its own ressources, including new valuable resources in the "outbacks" of the map. (A few had to sacrifice historical accuracy for better game balance) *- Maximum amount of almost 200 historically medieval settlements. *- Mountains, hills and map outlines are based on satellite data. *- Maximum width the engine allows of 510 movement tiles. *- Completely new and huge campaign map, covering most of Europe and the beginning of Persia.
